How to Update Safari on a Mac?

Compatibility
The default browser for Apple devices and there are no official versions of Safari for other devices. Apple no longer supports Mac OS 10.14 for Macbooks older than 2012.

Apple released Safari 17.5 yesterday (see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT214103). The FAQ above is WAY out-of-date! If you want the latest Safari, don't go on the Mac App Store. Go into System Settings and type in "Software Update". When Apple feels like it, you'll find any new Safari version listed somewhere in the interface, likely under "More Info...". v17.1 is NOT just for macOS 14 Sonoma.
